Starting with the end in mind.

Program review involves examining the student learning experience. In order to do that, it’s helpful to explore aspects such as:

  • what makes good learning outcomes at the course / program / institutional level?
  • what factors come into play for designing courses based on pedagogically sound practices?
  • how do we ensure that assessment aligns with learning outcomes?
  • how do we promote inclusion?
  • how do we ensure courses and programs are designed with indigenization and internationalization interwoven rather than as ‘add-ons’?

Given the growing number of combinations of the ways in which we connect with students (face-to-face, asynchronous, blended, Hiflex etc.) these considerations are becoming more complex. Every institution, program, course, and class is different. Whether you are working on an Action Plan to address the recommendations of a program review, or writing the Self-Study, the resources in this section provide ideas to ponder to support you through the process.
