Phase 2 is the Data Gathering phase. Data is collected from data packages provided by the Department of Institutional Research and Planning, current students and alumni, faculty and community partners.
Data gathering is a important phase in program review as the data collected helps inform the writing of the Self-Study.
Points to consider:

  • What kind of data do you want to collect? (check out the following site on identifying types of direct, indirect and supportive evidence for program assessment University of Toronto – Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation)
  • What might be the best way to gather data and what/who might be the best sources? (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews)

Both the Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation and the Institutional Research and Planning Department are available to support you through this phase of program review.
